A haberdashery of creative curiosities…

Our story

It all begins with the mindset of a constant side hustle. You know the quote, “find 3 hobbies, one to make you money, one to keep you in shape, and one to be creative.” I take this to heart and my career has had many chapters. I remember when my kids were young, creating things as a hobby but also to have a little side cash was nice too. Whether it was jewelry, paintings, decor, or fashion, I enjoy creating an aesthetic and I wanted to keep myself and my skills current and relevant for when I went back to a full time work. I didn’t want any gaps in my resume but more than that I just loved learning how to create things and then share it with others. Beautiful, unique, things and not just things but moments and spaces. Spaces that house our treasures.

The first chapter was in politics and let me tell you, boy am I happy it was back in the 90’s. I learned a lot and had a really amazing time living in DC working on the hill for a United Sates Senator. Although I enjoyed it, I knew it was not my forever job. It was the job that made money. I transitioned into the art world which was a relatively easy thing to do. Modern Dance and Gallery work as a Director of two different art galleries kept my creative juices flowing. Where was the hobby that kept me in shape? Well it was always tucked in on the weekends or early morning hours before/after hours with whatever job I had. Trying to squeeze it in best I could. My kids once joked on a family vacation how I always managed to turn a vacation into some sort of physical challenge or endeavor as we rode the ferry over to Balboa to bike around the island and then back to Newport the long way.

There came a point when I took the leap into full time fitness instructing and outdoor adventure guiding. The Universe has a very interesting way of presenting things to us. One opportunity led to another. I had curated a great lifestyle. My spring, summers, and falls were filled with guiding hiking, biking, kayaking, rock climbing all over the world. I got to live in Alaska, climb Kilimanjaro and trek to basecamp of Everest, hike Machu Pachu while studying yoga in the Sacred Valley, and cross country ski the Laplands of Finland. My winters were spent at my home base in Utah where I taught skiing, and EMTed with ski patrol, while also teaching fitness classes and personal training clients. I was fully immersed in fitness to achieve outdoor adventure goals for myself and my clients.

I knew as the years went on there was a shelf life for the pace I was going and I knew I missed being home more often and the creative things I had done prior. I was creating trips for folks and making memories for them and myself, but other than putting together beautiful charcuterie boards, I missed making things. I wasn’t painting as much, I was still journaling when I could but there just wasn’t enough time in the day. It was yet again time to switch things up. I thought long and hard…how to marry all of the things I enjoy doing?

I ended up here with eleven11. I know, I know, 11/11, 11:11, November 11th (my birthday) in all it’s forms can have deep meaning for a lot of people as it does for me. I knew I wanted to create a brand, an esthetic that speaks to the authentic, the curiosities I’ve been able to explore across the world, the unique, and handmade original pieces, as well as carefully curated events and adventures. It’s been a long time coming but here we are! Please enjoy perusing and as always feel free to contact us with any thoughts or queries.

So Hum,

T

Curated with care

Not your run of the mill atelier. Some pieces we craft are one of a kind and other pieces are a run of, yep, you guessed it, eleven. We like the unexpected, the original, and simply beautiful. As much as we would love to see our products everywhere, we pride ourselves on the uniqueness. Therefore each item, each event, each adventure is a little different and catered to the client. And no, that doesn’t mean you have to spend a fortune to be or have something different. It’s what we strive for and that’s what we want to put out into the world and see everywhere.
